We all have those trends we swear we will never follow. I’m looking at all the girls with the leg warmers in their closest and nightmares of their huge hair. Luckily that was never a trend I had to think about taking part in!
If you stare at a computer screen all day, keep reading. If you’re lucky enough to only ever look at your phone, just turn on night shift and call it a day.
Blue light glasses. They’re a trend that can benefit you. You’re probably thinking about the thick black frames and the orange lenses. Good news, they’re cute and have so many different options!! And for your convenience, they are on amazon!
I bought them on a whim, mostly for fashion purposes. I never expect them to actually make a difference. Between being in school all day, working, and just social media, I spend a lot of time staring at screens. That’s a lot of eye strain, and probably the reason why every time my eyes are examined they seem to be worse. I also was finding that I was squinting a lot just trying to see the screen, even with my contacts in.
Almost immediately I found I wasn’t squinting to see the screen anymore. Headaches. I stopped getting headaches. Staring at a screen all day really seemed to be the reason why I my head was hurting at the end of the day. Blue light also can affect your sleep. When I started wearing blue light glasses regularly, I found I wasn’t having trouble falling asleep or even staying asleep.
I still would recommend limiting your screen time outside of work. You can also adjust your phone settings to not only limit your time on social media apps, but to also shift to night mode. My phone is set to move over to night mode around 7pm. Your eyes and your head will love you.
